Palm’s Centro has sold its 1 millionth Centro smartphone, a move company officials attribute to its price tag. The phone, initially introduced in the U.S. in September 2007, accounted for 11 percent of all domestic mobile phone sales that year. The phone is currently sold in 10 countries worldwide, however, officials indicate there are plans to expand its reach to additional regions. Palm officials indicate as smartphones continue to expand outside of the business professional sector, they are seeing more young adults and women using the device.
